Growth is uncomfortable—but the pain doesn’t always mean something is wrong. Sometimes the pain is evidence that God is stretching you, forming you, and increasing your capacity for what He’s calling you into.

In Growing Pains, we look at the disciples in the storm, Peter stepping onto the water, and what happens when God calls us beyond what feels familiar and safe. Peter had enough faith to leave the boat—but when his attention shifted from Jesus to the storm, he began to sink.

The safest place isn’t always the boat. The safest place is the will of God.

If He tells you to stay, stay. If He tells you to come, step out.

Through Mark 6, Matthew 14, Galatians 4, and Romans 8, we’ll see how God uses seasons of discomfort to form Christ in us, deepen our dependence on Him, and prepare us to participate in the advancement of His Kingdom.

You may not understand what God is doing in the middle of the storm, but you can trust the One who is with you in it.
