In the Beginning

Dec 21, 2025    David Tyler Shull

We often celebrate the resurrection as the pinnacle of the salvation story—but what if the most revolutionary moment came before the empty tomb?

In this message, we journey back to the very beginning—not just of Jesus’ earthly life, but to before time itself existed. Drawing from John’s prologue, we’re reminded that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This isn’t just poetic language—it’s a cosmic declaration that the Creator of the universe chose to step into His own creation.

The incarnation—God becoming flesh—is the most profound act of divine love imaginable. Jesus didn’t wait for humanity to get it together. He didn’t shout from heaven. He entered the middle of the story, whispering hope from a manger.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re living in the messy middle—caught in grief, anxiety, brokenness, or waiting—this message is for you. Christ meets us there. The same God who spoke galaxies into existence chose to make His most powerful move through the cry of an infant.

This Christmas season, we’re invited to look beyond tradition and nostalgia and recognize the incarnation as an ongoing cosmic disruption—one that continues to send aftershocks of grace, hope, and light into a dark world.

▶️ Watch, reflect, and be reminded: God is not distant. He is with us.
